Jan. 26–March 26, 2023
J. Wayne Stark Galleries | Memorial Student Center, MSC 1110

Surface refers to the tangible structure/texture of the painting area, drawing paper, or hard surface upon which one works to create an image. The surface of the material used might be smooth, glossy, hard, rough, or soft. Featuring more than 30 works from the university’s collections, this exhibition explores how artists manipulate the surface of their creations in ways that reflect light, create patterns, or play with color.
