Did you know Dutch artist Karel Appel painted in a childlike manner because he believed children’s art was a purer form of art? He believed children were not yet restrained by training. You can learn more fun and intriguing facts like this when you visit the “Armchair Travel” exhibition.

Current travel restrictions limit our ability to visit other countries, but this exhibition offers the chance to explore other cultures through their art. Selected from Texas A&M University’s permanent collections, the art on display allows you to “travel” to the Far East, Europe, Africa, and all the way to Central and South America. Sculptures, ceramics, paintings, and prints by artists such as Sunol Alvar, Kathe Kollwitz, Joan Miro, and many more will educate, entertain, and inspire you.
