Pressing Matters: Prints from the Permanent Collection

This exhibition focuses on the printmaking process and includes artists from the 18^th through the 20^th centuries who used printing techniques ranging from intaglio to planographic methods. Included are hand-colored, engraved illustrations that documented the taming of the American West, 19^th century woodblock prints featuring famous Japanese actors, Op Art lithographs and contemporary etchings, all drawn from Texas A&M University’s permanent collections. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn how these processes work and compare ancient printmaking techniques still in use today.
