Poetry in Motion

Aug. 1–Oct. 13, 2024

J. Wayne Stark Galleries | Memorial Student Center, MSC 1110

This exhibition pairs two forms of expressive activity: art and short poetry. With poems by writers from Shakespeare to Langston Hughes, visitors are encouraged to look at the art with new eyes. Some pairings are literal, such as Joyce Kilmer’s famous poem, “Tree,” next to Ola McNeill Davidson’s beautiful painting of a tree. Others are more metaphysical and mysterious and ask the visitor to figure out the connection.
