The Texas A&M University Art Galleries (UART) is comprised of the J. Wayne Stark Galleries and the Forsyth Galleries. Both art galleries are located in the Memorial Student Center on the Texas A&M University Campus in College Station, Texas. Admission is always free and open to the public.

The University Art Galleries oversees a vast in-house collection, including indoor and outdoor public art. Tours are available by request and educational events and collaborations are conducted throughout the year. Public spaces are also available to rent for university functions.

Collections

Texas A&M University’s art collections reflect the diverse research, teaching, and interpretive endeavors of the faculty, staff, and students. The majority of the collections are American art, with a strong emphasis on Texas art. However, as the collection has developed over the years primarily through donations, visitors can find other works ranging from Pre-Columbian pottery to 19th century German genre paintings.

Mission

The Texas A&M University Art Galleries department supports the educational mission of Texas A&M University by providing impactful visual arts experiences to diverse campus and regional community audiences. UART serves as steward of its collections, promoting arts advocacy and engagement across the university.

Our vision is to cultivate a reputation as a premiere resource for art and research with the highest standards of collection management and curation, establishing UART as a cultural destination accessible to all. In addition to becoming an essential visual arts partner for faculty and staff, UART aspires to provide welcoming spaces for reflection and inspiration where students and the local community are invested in our mission.
